Greetings from the Dean's Office!
In recognition of Women’s History Month, the March edition of We are Wilkinson contains stories that highlight some amazing women in the Wilkinson community and their scholarly/creative/career activities. We are pleased to announce the launching of a new Health Humanities minor in fall 2022 (read more below), which will be of particular interest to students in the arts, humanities, and social sciences considering careers in the health industry. Towards the end of the newsletter, you will also find key information about planning and preparing for Commencement. Next time you are traveling through Terminal One at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) be sure to visit Associate Professor Lia Halloran’s exhibition, Your Body is a Space that Sees (pictured above)! If you would like to share a story for an upcoming newsletter,

Wilkinson Takes the Lead in Creating Health Humanities Minor
Wilkinson College's newest interdisciplinary minor, Health Humanities, will be available for all students in the fall of 2022. "It's a good option for Wilkinson students who want to apply arts, humanities, or social science majors to health and consider career options related to public health and health care," said Program Director Dr. Anna Leahy. "We need humanistic approaches if we hope to address the inequities."

As the Director of Government Affairs at Gilead Sciences, Inc., she leads health equity initiatives for HIV, Hepatitis, and infectious disease testing, diagnosis, and linkage to care.

In February, Wilkinson College received a second $10,000 gift from Jeffrey Griffith, a 2011 alumnus who double majored in History and Business Administration. Since Jeffrey has reconnected with the Department of History over the past year, he has made a point to give back with another philanthropic gift to support faculty research within the department. Wilkinson College, the heart and soul of Chapman University, is grateful for Jeffrey’s support and philanthropy.
