First Weekend Postponed

With wet weather predicted for the rest of the week, we've made the difficult decision to postpone Street Festival 2140's Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March dates at Homebush West. Stay safe indoors this week and we'll see you next week when we kick off 12 days and nights of surprises and delights.

The Curious Case of Constance Kent

March is Women’s History Month!

Ruth Emilie Kaye died in the Loreto Convalescent Home, Albert Road, Strathfield in 1944, aged 100. She was praised for her selfless career nursing lepers at Little Bay and as matron of the Parramatta Industrial Girls’ School. It was many years before her real identity was revealed. At the age of 16, in England, Constance Kent had murdered her younger half-brother. Scotland Yard was called in but it was five years before she confessed to the crime. After serving 20 years in gaol she migrated to Australia and re-invented herself as Matron Kaye.
