CFK makes a big difference to the lives of mothers and babies in real hardship.

Dear

In April this year our training program on Kiriwina provided the Village Birth Attendants with essential education and equipment to help enable safe births across the Island of Kiriwina and surrounding island communities.

Kiriwina is part of the Milne Bay Province of PNG. They are a very close neighbour and yet live a world away from the standard of living we enjoy in Australia. Their proud and distinct community tackles the great challenges that are faced by all developing nations, including high child mortality, an abundance of tropical diseases including malaria, and over population with ever diminishing resources.

Our recent program educated 180 Village Birth Attendants in emergency birthing skills, providing vital learning which will reach out across the nine Circuits of the Island. We also supplied four mobile phones for improved emergency communication, birthing kits, birth instruction lanyards and birth certificates (all translated into the Kiriwinan language), aspirators, hearing aids for the local medical officer, kerosene lanterns and torches. Educational supplies were also distributed to two high schools and three primary schools.

Your tax deductible gift this year will be used to make a real difference. CFK has very few overheads, and is staffed by passionate volunteers who donate their time and expertise, which means your valuable dollar goes directly to the purpose it was given.

Make a difference and make your gift count this year, and reduce your tax burden at the same time.
