Highlights from the 2017 Annual General Meeting

Our 7th Annual General Meeting was held on September 18th at the Kamloops Art Gallery with more than 80 attendees: 34 General Members and 11 Associate Members, plus families, guests, and staff. Your Chair, Dr. Chip Bantock, presented the Chair's Report and summary of achievements for the last year. We were joined by auditor Norm Daley for the audited financial statements. It was a great opportunity to welcome new members and reconnect with old colleagues. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this AGM one of our most memorable events this year.

Pathways Tip of the Month

Although you have always been able to print appointment information for patients in the past, you now have the ability to email this information directly to patients as well.  An important reminder for users to ensure they obtain consent from the patient to communicate electronically.  Pathways will provide a helpful prompt, and a link to a consent form recommended by CMPA, when you attempt to email any information.  Please be sure to keep a copy of the consent form in the patient’s chart.

Check out the latest Pathways newsletter by clicking the image to the left for more useful tips.

Contact Melanie Todd, your Pathways administrator, at thompsonregion@pathwaysbc.ca or call 250-372-1621 if you have any questions or want to sign up.

The Kamloops CYMH team, in partnership with the Thompson CYMHSU Local Action Team, has developed a brief feedback form to communicate with other clinicians that have common clients. This feedback form is only on high risk clients that are more complex cases, suicidal or on multiple medications and not on every patient that they are providing services to. The reports are designed to improve communications with all clinicians involved in the patient’s care. Beginning October 1, 2017, the pilot project will enable family practices across the province to access over-the-phone interpreting services through the Provincial Language Service (PLS). There is no cost to participate in or use the interpreting services as part of this pilot project until such time as the PLS/PHSA notify you the pilot project has ended.
