EMTC's UTR Event Series

A new and fresh initiative for our club, this winter saw the introduction of a series of UTR-based night competitions, which became the single biggest revenue raiser and social event in recent history! A big thank you to Chris Woods and Jake Zerman who with assistance from Errol Woods promoted and coordinated these events. We saw terrific participation with 234 players, and a fantastic and diverse social club spirit – even the cold weather, blackouts and washouts did not deter!

A similiar series of events will be held in the September competition break (23rd September – 4th October) and with warmer weather we look forward to even greater participation and fundraising for our club. These events are open to all UTR players, so please spread the word and invite your friends to the next event.

Redevelopment Update

Dear members,

Talks with Stonnington council are still progressing, albeit a little slower at the moment than previous months.

Preliminary works are occurring around the club, with arborists surveying the area for potential courts 11&12, geotech drilling occurring, as well as an upcoming audit of the clubhouse by roof plumbers.

While we remain engaged with council, there still hasn’t been a clear indication of when Stage 1 of the project will occur.

We are due to meet again with council in a few weeks.

As soon as we have the required clarity from council regarding timing and disruption to normal clubhouse operations, I will be sure to pass on to members.

Thank you
Mark Stevens

President
