White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) awarded a $400,000 cooperative agreement to ACMT
ACMT is excited to report that The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) awarded $400,000 cooperative agreement to ACMT as part of their "Comparison of Illicit Drugs in the Drug Supply with those in Biological Specimens from Emergency Departments” program. It is one year funding. Thank you Rachel Culbreth, PhD, our ToxIC Research Director who wrote the grant, as well as all of the support from our staff, ToxIC sites, and partners!
ACMT Position Statement: ACMT Supports the Safe Use of Acetaminophen in Pregnancy
ACMT affirms the safety of acetaminophen in pregnancy and calls for an evidence-based approach to the search for causes and treatment of autism. Multiple studies have investigated the association between acetaminophen and autism but have failed to find a causal effect.

Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Watson on his Tufts CTSI K12 Translational Science Career Development Award!
Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Watson for being awarded a Tufts CTSI K12 Translational Science Career Development Award! This prestigious award supports early-stage investigators in advancing innovative translational research. His project will focus on understanding post-discharge emergency care for uncomplicated alcohol withdrawal, including the use of transdermal alcohol sensors to support patient care.
Congratulations to Dr. Goldfine for her NIDA K23!
A big congratulations to Dr. Charlotte Goldfine (ANTIDOTE Institute Cohort 5) on receiving a prestigious K23 award from NIDA! Her project will test an innovative digital pill system paired with CBT-based support to improve adherence to acamprosate, the leading medication for alcohol use disorder in individuals with alcohol-associated liver disease. This groundbreaking work has the potential to transform treatment outcomes for high-risk populations and set the
stage for scalable digital health interventions across other pressing conditions.
Congratulations to Dr. Peter Chai for his NIH/NIDA R34!
Congratulations to Dr. Peter Chai (ANTIDOTE Institute co-chair) on his NIH R34 grant for Harmonized Healing: Personalized Music Interventions to Address Chronic Pain in People Living with HIV. This project will pilot a personalized, app-based music program to improve pain and mood, building on preliminary evidence that music can reduce distress. The grant will support feasibility testing and protocol development to prepare for a larger
clinical trial.

ACMT’s ToxIC team traveled to the Windy City—Chicago, IL—for the 2025 North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology (NACCT) Annual Meeting. ToxIC was excited to showcase its latest work, presenting 12 scientific posters featuring new findings from the Real-world Examination of Naloxone for Drug Overdose Reversal (RENDOR) Study, the Core Registry, and the North American Snakebite Registry (NASBR).
