27th May 2022A Message from the Head... ![]() Earlier this week, Pre-Reception and Reception hosted a Platinum Jubilee Concert which was attended by the Queen herself - well a very good stand-in at least! We were treated to lots of songs which had been cleverly twisted to comply with the Royal nature of the event, a carriage ride, super dancing and afternoon tea which was a real treat. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for getting us in the Jubilee spirit! ![]() As this half term draws to a close in glorious sunshine, so does our first proper internal examination week since before the pandemic. High School pupils were once again lined up in strict rows of examination desks in the sports hall and life really does feel like it is back to 'normal' as a result. Everyone seems to have coped admirably with the return of this most unwelcome feature of school life, despite some pre-exam anxieties in the past couple of weeks. They can all now look forward to a relaxing half term break with the results to come when they return the week after next! Shame that the same can't be said for our Upper 5 and Upper 6th pupils who will need to keep their noses to the grindstone for just a little longer.... ![]() Upper 3 finished their exams a day early and enjoyed a trip to Ripley Castle to take part in the "Live For Today" activity program. This has included high and low ropes courses and the obligatory canoe rafting of course! Hopefully they've all had a great time and I look forward to reading about it after half term. Have a lovely week away from school everyone. - Dr Tracy Johnson - The Queen's Green Canopy initiative![]() This week we were delighted to be presented with two fruit trees by our inhouse catering team Holroyd Howe, enabling us to take part in the Queen’s Green Canopy project. Our gardener Tom has ensured our trees have been planted correctly and we look forward to seeing how they will grow over the coming months and years. Ofqual message regarding hoax offers of exam papers![]() Ofqual has warned hoaxers are trying to sell fake exam papers on social media. Please ensure that pupils not distracted by these hoaxes.
