The Year 6 teaching staff have been reinforcing positive behaviour and how to develop individual leadership skills with all of our Year 6 girls. A great leader works as part of a team. Parents can continue to support their daughter by encouraging them to work on their co-operation skills through participation in team sports and other group-related activities. At school, we encourage all our girls to put their ideas forward, help when required, demonstrate our PLC values, and be the best version of themselves. Parent ConnectionsAs a new member of PLC, I
would like to take this opportunity to thank the many Junior School families who have attended year level meetings with Ms Cate Begbie and me, our Parent Information Night, and our first formal assembly last Friday. Throughout these events, the strong sense of belonging is evident here at PLC. Thank you for your feedback at these meetings. We take your comments seriously and we will continue to make changes to improve and evolve.
Lunar New Year This week is Lunar New Year and, to celebrate, the Junior School students have created a Chinese Wishing Tree. They also enjoyed learning traditional Chinese ink brush painting techniques with professional Chinese artist, Xu Yang. More photos can be viewed on our Facebook page.
Inaugural Student-led Tour On Tuesday, our new Year 6 Leaders enjoyed showing a large group of prospective parents and their daughters around our beautiful Junior School. We have previously involved students in our tours, however, this was the first time the tour was led entirely by the girls, giving families an insight into not only our facilities but the confidence and passion that the students possess when talking about their school. We received wonderful feedback from our visitors and I speak on behalf of every staff member involved in co-ordinating the tour that we were, and continue to be, extremely proud of our Year
6s. Mrs Geraldine Drabble
Head of Junior School
Next Wednesday is known in the Christian calendar as “Ash Wednesday”, heralding the beginning of Lent, as the prelude to Easter. Many will attend worship to be anointed on the forehead with ash, acting as a reminder of the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The early Hebrew Creation stories speak of God forming us from dust and being reminded with the words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”.

- Stay inside your car at all times – this is extremely important
- Try to ensure
the children can exit on the left side of the car
- Move to the front of the slipway when you can
