World Caring DayYesterday we celebrated Happy World Caring Day. In highlighting the importance of caring for others, students had the opportunity to add a caring message on a piece of paper shared across the entire Senior School. Thank you to Wellbeing Captain, Ava Miels, for organising this initiative. It was a wonderful reminder to think about how we can each make a difference in the lives of those around us. Whether it’s lending a listening ear, doing something nice for a friend, or simply offering a warm smile, there are countless ways we can show care and compassion. Kind regards, Rebecca Watts Chaplain's ReflectionsWhen I first came to Western Australia from Melbourne 26 years ago to take up ministry responsibilities in the South West, I met many Noongar people who taught me much about their culture and over the years we have remained great friends. One of the first things I learnt was that there were six seasons in the year, which are not defined dates on a calendar, but in relation to what is actually happening in the natural environment. What we know as June-July is known to traditional Noongar people as “Makuru”, symbolised by a dark blue colour indicating the coldest, wettest time in the South West.
