WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE CHESTER RONNING CENTRE

A Note from the Director

Dear friends,

Back in April, I led my Religion and Ecology class on a field trip to California, where students had the opportunity to camp, learn, and reflect together in a setting that brought their studies to life. Experiences like these continue to shape the kind of engaged, thoughtful learning community we value so deeply. Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kimberly Carfore for leading this immersive experience.

Looking ahead, we are pleased to invite you to an upcoming Philosopher’s Café, “Iran: What Has Happened and Why,” with Dr. Mojtaba Mahdavi. In conversation with David Goa, Professor Mahdavi will offer timely insight into the forces shaping Iran and their broader global implications, an important opportunity for reflection and dialogue in a rapidly changing world.

We are also currently organizing a public event, in partnership with the Fellowship of the Camrose Public Library, to raise awareness about the pressures facing Alberta’s public libraries, particularly in light of proposed Bill 28. This event will include a screening of The Librarians on June 3rd, followed by a panel discussion featuring Kerri Danner and community members. Together, we hope to foster informed and meaningful conversation about the role of public libraries and the potential impacts of legislative change.

As always, we are grateful for your ongoing support and engagement, and we look forward to gathering with you at these upcoming events.
