A New Path to the Waterfall
on View Through June 29

 

A New Path to the Waterfall, a joint exhibition of work by Samuelle Green and John Bromberg, explores the convergence of nature and technology. Featuring Bromberg’s large-scale Bridge to Nowhere sculpture meeting Green’s immersive cavernous paper installations, this exhibition also serves as the last exhibition of Bromberg’s eclectic art career.

This exhibition is supported by Lackawanna County Arts & Culture.

Found Objects, New Worlds: The Assemblage Art of Dr. Mel Wolk offers whimsical takes on life, love, sports, and politics through colorful sculptures. By combining unexpected materials into abstract creations, Wolk’s art delivers insightful and playful commentary on the human experience and shows the possibilities of what can be created with discarded items.

The Picture Book Art of Lindsay Barrett George

on View June 5 to August 31

 
 

Lindsay Barrett George’s beloved children’s books, mainstays in elementary schools and homes throughout Pennsylvania and nationwide for decades, reflect her deep interest in animals and connect children with the nature.

This exhibition celebrates her work by showcasing original illustrations alongside life-size depictions of her memorable characters, immersing children and adults alike in the magic of the natural world.

This exhibition is supported by PNC.

NEPA Gives 2025

NEPA Gives is back for another 24-hour giving extravaganza, hosted by the Scranton Area Community Foundation. During the event, donors from throughout the region and beyond give to nonprofits to support causes that matter to them.

Since last year's NEPA Gives, over 20,000 people have engaged with the Museum, many through free opportunities like community days and public school programs.

Agnes 50: Life After The Flood

In observance of the 53rd anniversary of Hurricane Agnes reaching our area, we present WVIA’s documentary highlighting the historic flood and its lasting effects on the community.

WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart is a free monthly screening series programmed in partnership with WVIA Public Media especially for senior citizens.

Join us at the Everhart as we celebrate the Electric City Flower Show in Nay Aug Park with the second annual Everhart in Bloom weekend, featuring two exciting events: Everhart in Bloom Happy Hour and Everhart in Bloom Community Day.

5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Join us on the front lawn of the Everhart with live music, food, and drinks at the second annual Flower Power Happy Hour.

At this 21+ event, listen to the Dishonest Fiddlers pick through a mix of folk, bluegrass, and jug-band-inspired music while enjoying a variety of beers, wines, and mixed drinks (The first drink is free with paid admission.), as well as delectable eats courtesy of the V-Spot.

Everhart Express to the Museum
of the American Revolution
Sunday, June 22

 

In celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, the Everhart Express is heading to the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia! Join us as we explore the compelling stories about the diverse people and complex events that sparked America’s ongoing experiment in liberty, equality, and self-government.

The group will visit for a self-guided tour, with audio devices included. For the rest of the day in Philly, to be enjoyed at your leisure, there are plenty of other fantastic attractions within walking distance to commemorate this formative time in America's history, including Liberty Square and Independence Hall, both free to the public.

Abundance Yoga with Mindy Hill

Spring is a time of abundance, from the lush green landscape to the fresh air. With Abundance Yoga, we’re celebrating and practicing gratitude for all that we have around us through the practice of flow yoga. Weather permitting, this session will take place outside on the beautiful grounds of the Museum in Nay Aug Park.

Everhart at Arts of Fire 
at Scranton Iron Furnaces

Join the Everhart Museum at the Arts on Fire Festival for hands-on fun and local history. Stop by our activity and resource table to make your own coal miner’s headlamp, a quick and creative craft where kids can design a wearable paper headlamp inspired by the real gear used by anthracite coal miners of Scranton’s past.

It's a fun way to connect with our region’s industrial heritage and walk away with a cool piece of history on your head.

As part of Everhart in Bloom Community Day, enjoy a special opportunity to meet acclaimed children’s book illustrator Lindsay Barrett George!

Coinciding with her exhibition, Turtles, and Bunnies, and Mice, Oh My!:The Picture Book Art of Lindsay Barrett George, opening June 5, this event offers families a chance to connect with the artist in person through interactive activities, from spontaneous doodles to creative prompts designed to spark young imaginations. Children will be invited to contribute their own drawings to a special community display.

Manny Has a Mission:
Storytime and Search
and Rescue Demo
Saturday, June 28
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Join us for a very special storytime with author and certified K-9 handler Kendra Lapsansky and her real-life search and rescue dog, Manny! Kendra will read aloud from her children’s book Manny Has a Mission, based on a true rescue mission she and Manny undertook on the Appalachian Trail, and Manny will demonstrate search and rescue skills.

This highly interactive session is ideal for children ages 4–10, accompanied by a caregiver. It is included with regular Museum admission, but pre-registration is required.

Everhart Express to MoMA

This past Sunday, the Everhart Express took our group to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for a hassle-free excursion to one of the world's most influential modern and contemporary art museums. It was our biggest group yet, with nearly 100 Expressers joining us for the trip!

The Express takes off again on Sunday, June 22 as we celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States by visiting Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia! Click here for more information and to register.
