Junior School Notices

TERM 3 WEEK 2

Dear valued member of the PLC community,

Many thanks to our community for your support of the Years 1 – 6 Inter-House Cross Country event held last Friday. It was a wonderfully successful afternoon filled with team and community spirit. Congratulations to Carmichael House, the Champion Runners, and every student who completed the course!

I would also like to acknowledge the students in Years 3 and 4 who competed in the Speakers' Challenge this week.

The speakers spoke clearly, confidently, and with great enthusiasm. Our finalists, Lucia Bennett (Year 4) and Anaya Hapuarachchi (Year 3) will represent PLC at the final to be held at Wesley College. Good luck girls!

The Years 5 and 6 Speakers' Challenge heats commence in class during Week 3, with the final conducted on Friday 12 August.

We hope you have been enjoying the new format of our communications with these Junior School Notices replacing Links. If you have any feedback, we would love to hear it – simply email cande@plc.wa.edu.au.

Year 4 Go-Karts

For the Unit of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary theme 'How the World Works', our Year 4 students are investigating scientific principles. On Tuesday, the girls enjoyed making go-karts to help them understand forces and laws of motion. They designed, built, tested, and raced their go-carts, not only developing knowledge about the intended science outcomes but also how to use tools, design principles, and teamwork – all while having a great deal of fun.
