The speakers spoke clearly, confidently, and with great enthusiasm. Our finalists, Lucia Bennett (Year 4) and Anaya Hapuarachchi (Year 3) will represent PLC at the final to be held at Wesley College. Good luck girls! The Years 5 and 6 Speakers' Challenge heats commence in class during Week 3, with the final conducted on Friday 12 August. Year 4 Go-KartsFor the Unit of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary theme 'How the World Works', our Year 4 students are investigating scientific principles. On Tuesday, the girls enjoyed making go-karts to help them understand forces and laws of motion. They designed, built, tested, and raced their go-carts, not only developing knowledge about the intended science outcomes but also how to use tools, design principles, and teamwork – all while having a great deal of fun. ![]() Festival of ScienceOn Wednesday 10 August, students will be engaged in the Festival of Science. Children will rotate through a variety of science activities based on the theme, 'Glass, more than meets the eye'. This promises to be a fun way for hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Thank you to Ms Clayton for driving this fun day of scientific discovery. Student Achievements![]() da Vinci DecathalonMs Clayton and selected Year 5 and 6 students competed in the da Vinci Decathalon final at UWA on Wednesday 3 August. There were 21 Year 5 teams and 22 Year 6 teams competing. Congratulations to our Year 5 team who achieved 1st place in the Science and Creative Producers sections and our Year 6 team, awarded 2nd place in Ideation and Art and Poetry.
