Leap into action with some toad busting fun!

There are few things more annoying than an unwanted guest in your garden - especially ones that impact our native wildlife and pets. With an increase in wet weather during breeding season, residents are seeing more and more cane toads hopping about.  Did you know that consistent control efforts can remove up to 47% of a localised toad population? Why not make a difference in your local area! Come along to one of our upcoming Cane Toad Busting events. You'll discover how to identify cane toads at different stages of
their lifecycle, learn safe and humane capture methods, get tips on toad-proofing your home, and find out how to create habitats for native frogs and other wildlife. Ready for a toad-ally awesome challenge? During The Great Cane Toad Bust, from 18-26 January, we're holding the Logan Toad Busting Challenge. Compete as a family, with your neighbours, or gather members of your community groups and see if you can win the title of Toad Busting Champion. Head to the Facebook event to stay tuned for more information and the prizes on offer.

Did you know koalas can swim? They sometimes enter backyard pools to cool off, drink, or escape threats. However, pools can be slippery, making it hard for them to climb out. Here are some tips to keep your pool safe for koalas and other wildlife: 🐨 Tie a thick rope with a floating object (like a milk bottle) for koalas to grip.🐨 Ensure your fence keeps most animals out of the pool area.
🐨 Cut back branches overhanging the pool.
🐨 Use a tight, secure pool cover that won't sink if a koala walks on it.
Let's ensure everyone enjoys a cool swim safely! 🏊♀️🐨
