Geneseo is getting ready to send your students home for the holiday, with the end of fall semester soon to follow. In this season of gratitude, we’re thankful for you and all you do to support your students. Our partnership helps Geneseo to better meet students’ needs and provide them a more meaningful campus experience—and we appreciate that! Lenny Sancilio The Student Association Break Shuttle is free to your student with their college ID. Space is limited, so advanced sign-up is required. Stops are made at the Greater Rochester International Airport, the Trailways Bus Terminal, and the Amtrak Station before and after the November and Winter breaks. December 5 the last day to withdraw from second half semester and full-semester courses. The last day of classes and last day to elect Pass/Fail for Fall 2022 is December 12. Final exams will run December 14–20. Residence halls close on Wednesday, December 21 at 10 a.m. Is your student struggling with classes? Might they benefit from a little extra help? Geneseo offers tutoring as well as a variety of other academic support resources, and many departments hold their own discipline-specific tutoring sessions. Intersession courses for Winter Break (December 29, 2022–January 23, 2023) are now available. Students can earn needed credits and maintain their program eligibility in the Excelsior Scholarship, accelerate their academic progress, and consider options from Geneseo rather than other institutions. Interested students should check KnightWeb. The Office of the Dean of Academic Planning and Advising (DAPA) offers students helpful resources as they begin registering for Intersession and Spring 2023 courses. Staying on top of registration issues can help keep a student’s academic progress on track, and becoming familiar with DAPA’s resources allows them to advocate for themselves. Resources The alumni magazine’s Fall 2022 issue explores the power of possibility in our lives—how it can lead to success and help us make a difference. Meet students who are preserving history, alumni business owners on Main Street in Geneseo who treasure their community, and more. Planning to visit your student on campus this fall? Everyone is welcome to eat in the college’s dining halls, which offer both unlimited and retail dining options. All dining halls accept cash or credit—and each student on a meal plan gets six guest dining passes each semester. Holiday shopping is right around the corner—and we’ve got you covered. The online SUNY Geneseo Image Store features several photo galleries and options for print size, frames, and finishes. Prices start at $7, and shipments are typically delivered in 6 to 10 days.
