UHC Day is in 5 days!

This 12 December, join advocates worldwide to raise awareness of the urgent need for universal health coverage. 

This year’s theme – Health for All: Time for Action – emphasizes the need for immediate and tangible steps to implement the Political Declaration that was adopted by world leaders at the UN High-level meeting on UHC in September 2023.

Our theme urges leaders to translate political commitment into actions and investments in order to:

• guarantee equitable access to essential health services through primary health care
• protect people from impoverishing out-of-pocket health spending

It is time to get progress towards health for all back on track. 

Here's how you can help:

1.    Join the discussions.

UHC Day events will be taking place on 12.12 and in the days leading up to it. Here are a few virtual events to add to your calendars: 

• 11 December, 13.00–14:15 GMT: Town hall "Shaping our Health Future: Young Leaders and Parliamentarians Unite for Universal Health Coverage"
• 11 December, 13.30–15.00 GMT: Launch of the WHO Global Health Expenditure Report 2023​

Take a look at the global heatmap to find out about more UHC Day events organized by advocates around the world.

2. Share your plans.

Fill out this form to feature your event on the global heatmap. This will help advocates find events near them and coordinate efforts!

You should also tag #UHCDay when promoting events to increase their visibility.

3. Use your voice.

Write to your policymakers for urgent action on UHC. Use our template letter to elevate your advocacy efforts for UHC and ensure your elected officials grasp the urgent need for action in your country. 

You can also use the quote card template and UHC Day toolkit to show your commitment to UHC and urge your leaders to take meaningful action. The toolkit includes social media messaging, graphics, video backgrounds, banners and templates that you can use and adapt to your needs. 

4. Stay connected.

Here's the latest update on the UHC Day campaign preparation. It's not too late to sign up to receive further UHC Day updates before and after UHC Day.
