Dear Residents, The skate park upgrades at Cooke Park are progressing well with concreate work now completed. Landscaping is underway (weather permitting) to improve the look of the area and ensure the skate park blends in with the natural surroundings. It won’t be long until our teenagers and other skating enthusiasts can once again enjoy this popular asset. Please follow Council on Facebook and Instagram for updates. Cr Benjamin Cai, Mayor of Strathfield Celebrating NAIDOC Week 🖤💛❤️ This NAIDOC Week (5 – 12 July 2026), Strathfield Council wishes to acknowledge the Wangal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the Strathfield Council Local Government Area is located. Strathfield Council pays respect to Elders past, present, and emerging. During NAIDOC Week, we encourage you to see the artwork 'Traditional Aboriginal Stone Tools of the Wangal People' by artist Chris Edwards on the corner of Bridge Road, and The Crescent in Homebush. It visually communicates and honours the Aboriginal history of Strathfield and provides a unique sense of place in Homebush. Additionally, Strathfield Council has partnered with Murawin to deepen our connection to Country, delivering a comprehensive Understanding Country report for the local community. This important work highlights the evolving landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and deep cultural knowledge that have shaped the area over time. Litter dropped on roads, footpaths and parks can be washed into stormwater drains and carried directly to the Cooks River, where it can harm wildlife and pollute our waterways.
