![]() Dear Eagles, The Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) would like to warmly welcome first-year and transfer students to the Heights, and welcome back returning students for another invigorating fall semester! I am writing to introduce myself as the Dean of Students, and to invite you to stop by our office to get to know us and learn how we can be of service to you during your BC journey. To share a bit about me, I have been in my role as Dean of Students for just over one year, and I live close to campus with my family – you might see me running around the Reservoir or walking around campus with my two small children. Through my previous roles at BC, I have come to realize how truly special and caring the BC community is. BC has provided me with invaluable opportunities for interpersonal connection in addition to personal growth and reflection, and therefore I am extremely invested in continuing to cultivate a strong sense of community for students. DOS is located in Maloney 448, and we are here to support you through challenges you might face during your time here. We also want to hear from you about your experience, celebrate your successes with you, and get to know you. Our team is here to help with:
Be sure to read about our key policies and expectations for all students and take a look at the opportunities to engage with our regularly updated list of DOS events, build community and connections with others through our Circle Up programs, and stop by the office the last Friday of each month for Deans and Donuts. One of the new events we're kicking off this year is Dinner with the Deans: an opportunity to come sit down with me and other Deans in our office, share a meal from a local hotspot, and learn more about our office! For our first session we'll be inviting any interested First-Year undergraduate students to join us on the evening of September 14 from 6pm - 8pm. If you're a first-year student, please sign-up to express your interest here. Finally, are you looking to add a 1 credit class to build your resilience and coping skills? Sign up for a class I am co-teaching on Mondays at 4:30 by registering for UNAS3348 Section 2 - Cross Currents Thinking About Resilience, or reach out for more information! I look forward to seeing you in Maloney Hall or around campus! Dean Kelly ![]() Office of the Dean of Students 617-552-3470 / Email: deanofstudents@bc.edu |
