Child Safe Organisations Seminar9.30am - 12.30pm Friday 24 October 2025 Communities is coordinating a National Principles for Child Safe Organisations Seminar in collaboration with sector partners for Children’s Week 2025. This free in-person and online event will focus on the rights and participation of children and young people in organisations, and include ways in which organisations can practically implement elements of the National Principles. The seminar aims to provide knowledge and experiences on the importance of the participation of children and young people in support implementation of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations to further embed organisational child safe cultures and practices. Join us at Edith Cowan University, Mount Lawley, for a morning filled with insightful discussions to progress implementation of the National Principles. Online Micro-Event WebinarsCommunities is also coordinating two free online micro-event webinars, hosted and presented by key sector agencies and aimed at introducing the National Principles. These 15-minute sessions have been created as an introduction for child safe organisations, families and young people who may not have engaged with the National Principles before, as a way of broadening community awareness. We are hoping for your help to share this information with your local communities. You can access event resources to create your own newsletter text or social media post to promote these events, or your own, from our Children’s Week event resources page. These free online presentations will be hosted during National Children’s Week by:
Communities is also encouraging organisations who may engage with children and young people, to host their own micro-event focused on the National Principles. These events can be registered on the Communities’ National Principles events page, and individual organisations can also use resources created by Communities and create opportunities to have conversations about the National Principles. If you are using this time to start engaging with the children and young people who participate in your organisation, consider requesting copies of the National Principles Feedback Postcard to start the conversation and explore this year's theme for National Children’s Week, ‘Everyone should know about Children’s Rights’.
