Eastbound by Village Theatre Ongoing until June 12 | First Stage Theater | details Developed through the New Works program, Eastbound is a new bilingual musical centering on two brothers’ quest for identity. After 21-year-old Calvin finds he has six months to live, he travels to China to connect with his birthplace. At the same time, his biological brother Yun travels to the U.S. in hopes of breaking free of stifling family traditions. Fusing a contemporary score with traditional Chinese folk music and Mandopop, Eastbound is an emotional story of what it means to balance family, tradition, and independence. Fragmented Flow Festival by On The Boards June 16 - 26 | Merrill Theater | details Fragmented Flow is a chance to lose yourself in a world pieced together through exciting experimental performances by PNW artists. This year, OtB brings together four artists for an intimate investigation of different concepts of identity and relationship. Through a wide array of performance disciplines, you’ll explore your inner human psyche, memories and more.
