Senior School NoticesTerm 2 Week 1
Dear valued member of the PLC community, Welcome back to all our Senior School families. I hope you had a relaxing Easter holiday. We are looking forward to a busy and productive term, filled with new challenges, exciting opportunities, and plenty of fun along the way. We will continue to work closely with families to ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to succeed. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
ANZAC Day ServiceWe commenced Term 2 with a whole- school commemorative ANZAC Day Service. It was lovely to see staff and students across both the Junior and Senior Schools gather in the Junior School Swim and Recreation Centre to pay their respects. The ceremony included musical performances, speeches, poems and the traditional laying of the wreath, while buglers played The Last Post.
It was a heartfelt ceremony and I would like to give my thanks to those involved. I would also like to take the time to acknowledge our dedicated music students and staff who have were heavily involved in a number of ANZAC Day services on Tuesday.
Leavers' JacketsOur Year 12 students received their stylish new 2023 Leavers' Jackets this morning. Thank you to Creative Arts Captain, Katherine Gower, for designing and bringing these Leavers' Jackets to life! This year, the Year 12 cohort embroidered each jacket sleeve with their Year 12 motto ‘Breaking Free in 2023’. These Leavers' Jackets bind together our Year 12 cohort and commemorate their final year at PLC.
Kind regards, Rebecca Watts
Head of Senior School
During the first term break, I was able to revisit my homeland for the first time in ten years. Since that intervening decade, there are still struggles to recover from the effects of its long-running civil war. Furthermore, Sri Lanka recently descended into chaos as the economy totally collapsed, due to governmental failures on a massive scale, leaving the vast majority of the population destitute.

Years 11 and Year 12 ExaminationsIn Weeks 2 and 3 of this term, our Years 11 and 12 students are involved in examinations and work experience. For the students sitting examinations, these often finish after the school day, therefore, we ask that parents who are using the McNeil Street Slipway please keep any noise down to allow our students in the building to focus. If your daughter is sitting an examination, please ensure she has read the examination schedule carefully and that she arrives with plenty of time for her examination.
