FEBRUARY TIP: A BENEFIT OF FULFILLING PRIZES EARLY

Winning Writers generally fulfills its contest awards 1-4 weeks before the results are announced to the public. This saved us considerable trouble a few years back when we announced our book prize winners. Someone with a plausible-looking email address wrote to us, claimed to be the winner, and requested the $5,000 prize. Fortunately we had fulfilled this prize over two weeks before, so we figured out it was a very personalized form of phishing. No prize for this scammer!
