City Economy Business Luncheon

The Economic Strategy 2022 – 2027 together with the State of the Economy Report 2022 were officially launched on Friday 18 November at the City Economy Business Luncheon. 

Keynote, Mr Koukoulas, provided insights on the challenges facing the local and broader economy and shared his optimistic view on the economic outlook for the Gold Coast.

Singapore Trade Mission

The City of Gold Coast along with eight local Gold Coast businesses, attended the largest international food trade show, Food & Hotel Asia - Food & Beverage Singapore.

The show is a valuable platform for our local food and beverage exporters looking to expand into the Asian market. Visitors from Southeast Asia attend to source and buy products. For export support speak to a TradeStart Adviser.

Gold Coast pet business, Hemp Pet to go global

Hemp Pet began in the Gold Coast and will remain locally based despite continued growth. “We’re 100 per cent Australian made and owned, and we won’t stray from that.” Hemp Pet CEO Yohann Azlee says. “The Gold Coast is a great place to live as well as do business and there’s a lot of good, strong companies here. The local council is pro-business and the lifestyle is such that you can work and play, and get a nice creative balance.” Learn more here.

2022 Tourism Workforce Survey

The 2022 Tourism Workforce Survey is now open and closes 30 November 2022. UQ Business School are undertaking a study, in partnership with Queensland Industry Tourism Council, to better understand tourism workforce crisis recovery and resilience.

 

The findings of this study will inform a Tourism Workforce Strategy to aid recovery from COVID-19 impacts.

Help Shape the Future of the Gold Coast at Night

The City has commissioned research to grow and enhance the city’s night economy. Whether you’re a resident, worker, run a business or are visiting the Gold Coast, your input into this research is welcomed and highly valued.

 

Your feedback will be used to identify new opportunities for activation of precincts across the city and inform a proposed Activate the Night Action Plan.

THE BREWERS LUNCH: QUARTERLY NETWORKING EVENT

2 December 2022

Gold Coast Brewers Lunch will be held on Friday, 2nd December 2022 at The Penthouse in Surfers Paradise. Brouhaha Brewery will provide the beer, The Penthouse will provide a 2-course meal, a professional comedian will provide entertainment. The event will raise money and awareness for Gold Coast charity ‘Perry X Charity’.

The City of Gold Coast is excited to be attending Arab Health in Dubai at the World Trade Centre in 2023. Arab Health is a global exhibition attracting serious buyers and suppliers from around the world. We are currently accepting expressions of interest to join our trade stand.
