Somalia: accelerating COVID-19 vaccination in a fragile context by counting every childIn 2022, the Somalian Ministry of Health with support from WHO and UNICEF, developed a plan to accelerate the roll out of COVID-19 vaccination aiming to administer 3.5 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Data shows that 37.89% of Somali people have completed their primary vaccination against COVID-19 and 14% have received their first dose and will soon receive their remaining dose. Liberia conducts Comprehensive EPI ReviewLiberia conducted its first Comprehensive Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) review in 10 years. The findings show that the overall performance of EPI, integrating all components and all counties, is 45.21% with no distinct difference between county, district and HF levels. The complete report will be released once it has been endorsed by the country. Ted Chaiban, Global Lead Coordinator of CoVDP, visits MaliThe West African country of Mali is one of nine countries with less than 10% COVID-19 vaccination coverage. Recommendations from Ted Chaibain’s visit in October include conducting a series of mass COVID-18 vaccination campaigns in November 2022 and January 2023.
