Secure Your Spot for a Summer of Fun!

Dear Families,

As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to give your child the lifelong gift of swimming. At Mount Rainier Pool, we understand what parents value most when choosing a swim program: safety, quality instruction, convenience, and a welcoming environment for every child.

Our certified instructors follow a structured, age-appropriate curriculum designed to help children build water confidence, learn essential safety skills, and progress through skill levels at their own pace—all while having fun! With small class sizes, flexible scheduling, and a caring, community-centered atmosphere, Mount Rainier Pool is proud to offer one of the region’s most trusted swim programs.

Whether your child is just starting out or ready to advance to higher levels, we have a class that fits your family’s schedule and goals.

PRACTICE TIME (FREE PARENT USAGE)

The Mount Rainier Pool is dedicated to help youth become better swimmers and more comfortable in the water. We realize that swim lessons alone are not enough, and that practice is key to your child's success. DON'T FORGET THAT KIDS SWIM FREE (AT SOME SWIMS) THANKS TO A GRANT THROUGH KING COUNTY PARKS*!

FREE PRACTICE OPTION TIMES

  • Tuesdays, 6-7 pm
  • Wednesday, 7-8pm
  • Saturdays, 11:30am-1pm
  • Sundays, 11:30am-1pm

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO PRACTICE WITH YOUR CHILD?

  1. PLAY: Playing in the water with your children will help them apply their skills in a fun manner.
  2. COMFORT: Swimming with your child will help them be more comfortable around the water.
  3. BONDING: For teaching younger children, helping support them and perform the skills is a great activity to do together.
  4. SUCCESS: Moving up levels in swim lessons takes not only learning, but mastering swim skills.
  5. SUPPORT: Practicing with your child shows that you are willing to help them succeed.
  6. ENDURANCE: As your child progresses toward higher levels, you must practice with your child to build up their endurance to swim longer distances. Children can have great technique but need physical endurance to swim in Levels 3 and above.

The district has secured an engineering firm to do a study on its surge pit, which has some structural issues that could lead to a long closure. We are hoping a proactive approach will lead to a shorter closure.

AUGUST CLOSURE

The Mount Rainier Pool will be closed in August for repairs, cleaning and some system upgrades. We will make a formal announcement with exact dates in July.

The pool has some time-sensitive repairs, and we want to take advantage of this time to perform some deep-cleaning.

We will send this information out formally once we have a better idea of the repairs. Our goal as always is to maximize closures to ensure repairs do not create extended closures which include waiting for part sourcing, securing a contractor and other delays.
