The Komiti Māori hui on Tuesday 19 October is now being held via Zoom only due to Covid-19 Alert Level 2 restrictions. The meeting will commence at 9.30am and is due to finish at approximately 11.00am. Only councillors, reporting staff and confirmed presenters and participants will be given access to join the Zoom meeting. The meeting will be recorded and livestreamed. There was excellent discussion around better using science planning and applying te ao Māori as well as an opportunity to ask questions of council staff. The kaupapa Māori team have now had more than 220 discussions with iwi, hapū and other tangata whenua roopu on how they would like to be involved in the implementation of the NPSFM 2020. Many have indicated how – the next step is to enable and support tangata whenua on the engagement options they have identified.
