WHO Initiatives

For those interested in learning more about an organization with similar goals to the Health Services Learning Hub, check out WHO's Partners Platform. 

This week, the Partners Platform launched its new Measles threat portal. Built to support countries’ operational readiness against measles, the Platform’s new functionalities will facilitate funding requests for measles outbreaks, helping countries better monitor intra-border activities, identify resource needs faster, and track the allocation of resources more efficiently.

WHO Global Learning Laboratory for Quality UHC - Open Call for Action Briefs

The WHO Global Learning Laboratory (GLL) for Quality Universal Health Coverage is embarking on a learning journey. This learning journey will explore the important lessons learned throughout the world as health systems have endeavored to maintain the provision of quality essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The overarching aim of this work is to collate, share and learn from the experiences of those working throughout different levels of health systems on quality and COVID-19. These experiences will be shared as GLL Action Briefs and form a critical component of this learning journey, which also encompasses deeper examinations of this topic in some participating countries.

If you work with a national quality directorate, sub-national/district health team or a facility-level quality improvement team in your country and would like to document and share your experience as part of this learning journey, we want to hear from you!

HLH Network of Networks

The 44th World Hospital Congress in Barcelona (8th-11th November) was dominated by sessions focusing on building resilience and agility in global healthcare as it recovers from COVID-19.

In a programme featuring over 70 sessions and more than 300 speakers, the topic of COVID-19 was discussed in a variety of contexts, such as: women in leadership; getting ready for the next global pandemic; accelerating research, development and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine; nursing leadership in transforming healthcare during a worldwide pandemic; harnessing innovations to build back better; and humanizing technology for smart healthcare delivery.
Over 1,500 participants (in-person and virtual) joined the Congress and have access to all session recordings until Friday 3 December. If you could not attend the event, you can still purchase access to the recordings to catch up on what you missed.

 

ISQua Virtual Event - ‘Global Healthcare Emergencies’ – Tuesday, 23rd November 2021

ISQua recognises the pivotal need of exchanges of experiences, ideas and challenges of industry leaders in addressing healthcare emergencies which is why we are hosting this virtual event. ISQua have invited back two of their keynote speakers from the ISQua 2021 Virtual Conference, Dr Frances Mortimer and Prof Pascale Carayon, to speak on the challenges for industry leaders to address healthcare emergencies.

Dr Frances Mortimer will present on Climate Emergencies – Role of the Health Sector from 09:30 - 12:00 GMT

Prof Pascale Carayon will present on the Challenges and Opportunities for the SEIPS Model from 15:00 - 17:30 GMT

ISQua’s 38th International Conference – Brisbane, Australia – 17th to 20th October 2022 – Call for Papers

Together with our partner, the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL), ISQua is delighted to host our 38th International Conference in Brisbane, Australia.

Once a year ISQua brings together over 1,500 key decision-makers from over 80 countries to share their expertise and knowledge in health care quality and safety improvement. The theme for our 2022 conference is 'Designing for the Future - Community, Resilience, and Sustainability'.

Our call for papers is now open and you are invited to submit a paper on this topic or on one of our sub-themes. The overarching aspects of quality and safety that we are specifically interested in, and which run across our eight sub-themes include, but are not limited to, Co-Design, COVID-19 and Lessons Learned, and Clinical Governance as they pertain to ISQua’s Mission “to inspire and drive improvement in health, and the safety and quality of healthcare worldwide."
