Namaste, Are you feeling the hopefulness and promise of spring? If not, it may be time for an alignment re-set according to ancient Ayurveda. The first and last medicine of Ayurveda is meditation, and then comes the food program and daily routine, for the right use of time and stable bio-rhythms. Sleep, appetite and elimination are our three basic balance indicators. Some basic tips: Early to bed -begin winding down by 9 pm or so, to help empty the mind of today’s events, and create space for the all-important inner journey. Meditation is for personal communion with the Divine. It’s for you alone, your very own ‘me time’. Evening meditation is to give thanks and review past unresolved concerns, while morning meditation is for intentions, gratitude and empowerment. To end each day with a quiet mind is a key to preparing for the renewal and cell repair of deep sleep, and setting the stage for feeling refreshed and enthusiastic on waking. Re-alignment towards sound sleep is so very critical for bringing digestion back to efficiency and for a feeling of contentment and satisfaction in life. Then we can feel the joy intended for humanity, and take advantage of the expansion towards the summer solstice, when contraction will begin again in the northern hemisphere.
