Tiny Houses with Elle Paton and Ric ButlerLiving tiny doesn't always mean you have to forego the luxuries of a normal house. Join Elle and Ric at Emerald Library on March 26 as they show you how living in tiny, portable housing can not only be a viable way of living but one that can help people thrive. So if you've been thinking about scenic views and cosy evenings in your own little space, join us for this workshop and have any questions answered by two of the leading authorities on tiny living. |
Storytime In The Park - Colours Of The RainbowHead down to Wilsons Botanic Park on Thursday 17 March for a storytime that will be bursting with colour! Our Children's Library team will be on hand with lots of books, songs and rhymes for you and your children to sing along to. So bring your picnic rug and settle in for a rainbow themed storytime that your kids will love! Bookings are essential, please book a ticket for any attendees aged over 12 months. 
Self-Esteem and Body Confidence for TeensAs part of International Women's Day on Tuesday 8 March, Doveton Library will be welcoming Michelle from Glow Life Coaching to present an interactive workshop aimed at improving self-esteem and body confidence in teen girls. Book your spot and find out about how you can develop your mindset to embody confidence, build resilience, improve your mental health and confidence as well as your overall wellbeing. |
Share Your Story, Share Your Language
Drop into Bunjil Place Library on Saturday 26 March for a very special Multilingual Picture Book Workshop for Children and Families. Create a picture book with your child, using all the languages that mean something to you and your family.
- Listen to stories from a diverse range of storytellers
- Create your own 8 page book with pictures
- Receive a PDF copy of your book so you can print copies at any time

Turn Back The Clock - View Historical Images Of Your Neighbourhood
We now have a large number of photos and interviews from local residents in our new Local History page within the Library catalogue.
This collection includes:
- Over 350 aerial photos from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, covering many areas within the current Casey and Cardinia local government boundaries.
- Over 150 photos of locations and events around the same areas.
- Over 130 recordings and interviews with notable residents from the 80s and 90s.
You can find all of these items in the Library catalogue. From the main page of the catalogue, click on Local History in the top menu bar and in the Local History page, enter your search as you would for a library item.
More items will be added over time, so we encourage you to check back to see what new local history treasures have been added.
Upcoming Changes To Library Hours
From Monday 28 February through to March 27, opening hours at our libraries will change...yes we will be open longer and Cranbourne will be open Wednesdays!
Go to the website for more information, we'll have the new hours up from 9am on Monday February 28.
All libraries will be closed on Monday 14 March for the Labour Day Public Holiday.

Our libraries are located at Cranbourne, Doveton, Emerald, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Narre Warren and Pakenham. Our mobile library provides a weekly service to Bunyip, Cockatoo, Garfield, Gembrook, Koo Wee Rup, Lang Lang, Maryknoll, Nar Nar Goon, Tynong and Upper Beaconsfield.
