Organised by a dedicated committee, the event showcased diverse career opportunities and support services, with attendance nearly doubling from 2024, due to continuous improvements and a commitment to an exceptional user experience. Early WinsGameChange's Virtual Reality Headset Experience - Connecting Community to Career Experiences![]() A collaboration between GameChange and SELLEN has introduced a new virtual reality (VR) headset experience for career exploration, available to local service providers and community organisations for borrowing - free of charge. The VR platform immerses users in various workplace environments, performing simulated tasks that mirror real-world responsibilities. This hands-on approach helps individuals understand job roles, build confidence, and identify career paths that align with their skills and interests. Spotlight onSpringvale Learning and Activity Centre - Supporting People with Barriers to Employment![]() A few years ago, the Springvale Learning and Activities Centre (SLAC) launched the ‘Real Chance’ Program with $44,000 in funding from the Adult Community and Further Education Board. This initiative aimed to re-engage young people, particularly those who were homeless or at risk of homelessness, in education programs to build employment skills. ![]() Wellsprings for Women - Seeking Organisation Partners for Employment ProgramWellsprings for Women has received funding to run an Employment Support Program. This aims to support refugee and migrant women by developing their capacity-building skills, fostering connections with employers, and collaborating with local business partners and service providers to help clients secure meaningful employment. Wellsprings for Women is actively seeking employers and business partners who are willing to support disadvantaged women by offering employment opportunities or related support to enhance their employability skills. The women in the program have literacy levels ranging from EAL I to EAL III, and some may not have formal work experience. Suitable roles may include process work, pick packing, administration, housekeeping, or similar positions.
