QLDC Winter Road Report - 30 September 2023
Mōrena everybody and welcome to your weekend!
Just a short one from me this morning.
A few showers across our district, falling as snow this morning. Showers clearing this afternoon but remaining cloudy. Westerlies coming, it'll be fresh this afternoon.
Due to forecast snow on Crown, there is a truck patrolling. Drivers will notice snow has fallen up there but is not settling.
An update on the roads:
- Wānaka has dry roads across the network.
- Crown Range Road/Cardrona Valley same with dry roads.
- From Cardrona to Crown summit, the roads are wet.
- Crown Range there has been a light snowfall, at this stage it is not settling on road. Drive with care, as it is an alpine environment so conditions can change.
- Queenstown and Wakatipu Basin roads are all clear with positive temps.
Just remember to slow down and take your time this weekend - and enjoy it!
