This season is for nature!September is a special time to celebrate Logan’s natural wonders - from National Wattle Day and Threatened Species Day to Biodiversity Month and Save the Koala Month. It’s also koala breeding season, and these iconic animals are on the move, crossing roads and backyards in search of mates and new territory. Sadly, vehicle strikes are the leading cause of koala injuries and deaths in Logan. Over 70% of koalas reported on our roads don’t survive, even with emergency care. That’s why we’re reminding our community: koalas count on us. Koala conservation is a shared responsibility, and simple actions, like slowing down when driving between dusk and dawn, can help save lives. Koalas like Bear Grills have survived against the odds, but many others aren’t as lucky. Let’s work together to protect Logan’s wildlife! FEATURED NEWS
