Strathfield eNews No images? Click here 18 August 2022Cr Matthew Blackmore, Mayor of Strathfield This week we celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence Day. On 15 August the Indian Flag was raised in front of Town Hall next to the Australian flag. My best wishes to all our residents who celebrated the occasion. As Mayor I receive many calls about heavy vehicles parking in our local streets, a reminder to residents that if you drive a heavy vehicle you must comply with the appropriate parking restrictions. The NSW Government website states the following "heavy vehicles (4.5 tonnes or more GVM) or long vehicles (7.5 metres or longer) must not stop on a length of road outside a built up area, except on the shoulder of the road. In a built-up area, they must not stop on a length of road for longer than one hour (buses excepted)". For more information about parking rules please click here. If you need assistance with any local issue, please contact me on 0406 099 048 or cr.mblackmore@strathfield.nsw.gov.au
