Spring is Budding!

Hello dear,

Spring is budding in the northern hemisphere and we’re now enjoying longer days, brighter skies, magical magnolias and increased enthusiasm, at last!

This newsletter outlines a report about my Panchakarma program in India in Jan/Feb, an important market survey about a summer Pulse Assessment seminar, (including an amazing new announcement), an update about the Canada Ayurveda Research & Education Foundation, tips and features to help nourish your Ayurveda journey.

PANCHAKARMA IN INDIA

I’ll let this photo speak for itself about the results of my recent cleansing and rejuvenation program in Tamil Nadu, India.

Improvements came in my skin, joints, weight loss, focus of attention, mood, flexibility, energy reserves, and much more!

UPCOMING PANCHAKARMA IN INDIA

Nov. 12 - Dec. 29, 2023

Again, I plan to host a small group in rural Tamil Nadu to experience the health benefits of classical Panchakarma, in a unique and conducive community, dedicated to sustaining the classical cleansing and rejuvenation science.

Now is the time to make your decision to join us, as accommodations must now be made well ahead.

Several times, I have hosted groups since 2015, except during the Covid lockdown years.

At last, now we can again bridge east and west with Ayurveda health care, designed and developed for longevity, where I feel our self-care investment pays the best dividends.

All past participants have experienced significant holistic health improvements over the years.

Comment from a recent participant:

“Things are going well since my panchakarma program.  Most of my psoriasis spots are healed a small miracle after 19 years of trouble.  My digestion is back to normal and my appetite is good after a 3-year battle.  My swollen prostate is being addressed and I’m anticipating more success.”

K.H., Farmer

Participants know it is not a spa experience and that healing is a deep-acting process which brings spiritual growth and evolution, along with physical cleansing, detoxification and rejuvenation.

MARKET SURVEY FOR PROPOSED PULSE ASSESSMENT IN-PERSON SEMINAR

June 16 – 26 is under consideration for a Pulse Assessment seminar in Surrey.

My enquiries to you are:

Would you sign up to attend this now rare opportunity?

What do you feel about the prerequisites and PACE credit opportunity?

What do you feel about the schedule, housing and tuition suggestions?

The plan is to have five days of intensive learning, a rest day off on Wed. June 21 (Solstice) and again five days of practical learning, with the Graduation Circle on June 26 from 5-6 pm.  Friends & family are welcome to join this circle.

Class hours are planned from 10 am to 5:30 pm, to include a fresh vegetarian lunch, prepared and shared together, with Ayurveda principles in mind.

The format would include a blend of theoretical and practical learning, with perhaps 2 case studies featured on Mon. June 20 at 10 am and Sat. June 24 also at 10 am.

The client would be invited to join our lunch meal.

As always, we would observe free and open dialogue within our seminar and no sharing outside our safe circle, for sake of our case study client trust in our confidentiality.

Accommodation could be at nearby independent Air B&B or hotel options.

Sharing space at my home for 1 participant may be possible if we know well ahead, at no additional housing cost.  You would hopefully help with cooking, clean up and errands in exchange.

Pre-requisite is a minimum of 600 hrs. of Ayurveda education at a NAMA-approved school or equivalent.

Tuition investment including 10 lunches planned at $1777 CAD + GST, if prepaid by June 1 at noon and $2117 CAD + GST thereafter.

Foreign attendees would pay in USD, not subject to GST.  $1377 USD before noon on June 1 and $1515 USD thereafter.

50% discount for previous participants, space permitting.

Required Text:  Secrets of the Pulse by Dr. Vasant D. LAD.  Best to study this amazing but challenging book before the program.

NAMA PACE CREDITS: – members will be eligible on submission of your Certificate of Completion.

I feel humbled to have the blessing and encouragement of my beloved mentor, Vaidya Vasant D. LAD, whose method has astounded me from the beginning in 1988, for its efficacy and accuracy.  He modelled giving with both hands to me.

This intensive program intends to cover all seven pulse levels; practice at home in your day-to-day clinical setting will be needed to master the techniques over time, with the help of the textbook and the network of our new colleagues.

The weather is generally warm and pleasant in June in Surrey!

Thanks so much for taking the time to email me at:

jaisri@ayurveda-seminars.com with your feedback and comments regarding your intention to join!

BITS AND TIPS

What Are The Best Practices For Oral Health?

The tongue is considered by some to be the most important organ of the body.

One of my great teachers of Ayurveda, Dr. Thricovil Sukumaran from Kottakal, my first Panchakarma teacher, explained to me that the tongue can make or break our life depending on our food choices and word choices.

This short discussion of mouth care covers a few important steps in the morning routine for oral health, and can be used as needed after food, and before bedtime.

CANADA AYURVEDA RESEARCH & EDUCATION FOUNDATION

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

Can you hear my drum roll?

My dear colleague, Micheline Wong, co-creator and instigator of the Ayurveda Self-Care for Multiple Sclerosis FREE online program, has nominated me for the prestigious Rogers’ Prize for "Excellence in Complementary & Alternative Medicine."

We’re so excited because winning this prize will provide enough to fund the completion of our MS & Ayurveda Program and the start-up of our Ayurveda Elder Home-Care Aide Program.

You may remember dear Micheline as the first speaker in our 2022 SHARE AYURVEDA CONFERENCE at the University of British Columbia, last June 24-26.

Micheline’s presentation on this important public health challenge is dear to her healer’s heart, since her early practitioner days.

She inspired me to join her in this project to reach out to those affected by MS and other neuromuscular diseases.

Check out our 6 hrs. of FREE introductory videos, and send this link to those who you know may benefit.

https://www.carefoundation.net/education

Since registering our federal non-profit organization in 2017, we have now created our website, and donation systems, produced two successful SHARE AYURVEDA CONFERENCES (2018 and 2022), created transparency in tax and report filings, banking and outlined our collective pathway forward.

All this on an almost entirely volunteer basis!

Now, the C.A.R.E. Foundation is ready for fundraising and grant-writing to activate our programs, and we are now seeking to hire an experienced person or team on contingency to provide salaries for implementing our current goals.

Experienced grant writers with conviction about Ayurveda and its benefits for strengthening public health awareness in Canada are welcome to contact me at:  jaisri@carefoundation.net

Thanks for including your experience in fund-raising, grant-writing and non-profit management in Canada.

We’re especially interested in connecting with local people, with whom we can work together in person, at times.

Thank you for contributing to the shared vision of investing and developing Ayurveda research and education in Canada, beginning with our four inspiring projects, now unfolding.

You know how much I love to hear about your progress and challenges with Ayurveda.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

With good wishes for this season's expansion and new beginnings, from now until the summer solstice.
