What a brilliant Open Day we had yesterday! We had a fantastic turnout, and thankfully, the weather was on our side. A huge thank you to all the Committee members who came out and contributed to making it such a successful event. Special thanks also to Wes, Jake, and the Futures team for organising a great set of activities that kept our visitors engaged and helped draw in a crowd.

We were honoured to welcome some very special guests who shared exciting news with us. Senator Jane Hume, the Liberal Minister for Victoria and Shadow Finance Minister, along with Dr. Katie Allen, the Liberal Candidate for Chisholm, announced that they had secured a commitment of $4.1 million for our Club’s redevelopment. While this is contingent on Dr. Allen's election, we believe she’s a more than capable candidate. While our Club is non-partisan, we proudly support those who support us.

Additionally, we were joined by representatives from the City of Stonnington — CEO Dale Dickson, Deputy Lord Mayor and Councillor Tom Humphries, and Councillor Jamie Bell from the neighbouring ward. Although our Ward Councillor couldn’t make it, the Council pledged an additional $900,000 on top of their previous budget contributions. Dr. Allen is also advocating for the Council to develop two more courts for us beyond our current Court 10.

This is such exciting news for our Club! Not only will we have a revitalised clubhouse with improved accessibility, but we could also see increased court availability for everyone. A heartfelt thank you to all the Committee members—past and present—who have worked with me over the last 11 years. It’s been a long journey, but we’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
