As we head into Winter, Connected Libraries is here to keep you entertained.

Bookings are now open for our Winter What's On Guide. You can pick up a copy at any library or check it out online. There are lots of amazing programs on offer for kids and adults.

June is NEW member month! We want to encourage new members to join the library with the opportunity to win one of five $100 Kmart Vouchers. Sign your kids up, tell your friends! Library membership is free… so we would love it if you helped spread the word!

The Tiny Art Show Competition is back for 2024, this competition was very popular last year, and we can’t wait to see what the community create this year. Get your free mini canvas from any Connected Libraries location to get started. Entrants must be 16+.

Digital Literacy Winter Workshops are open for bookings!

The Digital Literacy team has put together workshops to help improve online skills. All events are free and there are workshops for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.

Our new Digital Literacy booklet will be updated seasonally. There are hard copy guides available at all libraries for you to take home and browse or give to a family member who would benefit from our programs.

World Environment Day

From Monday 3 June to Sunday 9 June, we are celebrating World Environment Day with a Seed Library Potluck and an E-Waste Recycling Drive.

The Potluck is open for Seed Library members only but you sign up at the library for free.
Visit the library and receive a free pot and seed to take home.

Drop off your e-waste for recycling at any of our libraries, including keyboards & mice, motherboards, cables and chargers, mobile phones, USBs, hard drives, CDs/ DVDs and their cases.​

The Audition-
Bunjil Place Studio

The stage is a country in itself. With its own rules and regulations. Or lack of them.

The Audition by Outer Urban Projects is a moving insight into the protocols and powers that permit or deny entry into our country and to our stages.

The Audition examines the parallels between actors auditioning for work and refugees seeking asylum in Australia.

Wombat Stew at the
Royal Botanical Gardens

The Royal Botanic Gardens and Connected Libraries are presenting a Wombat Stew themed Storytime during Reconciliation Week at Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne.

Bring your picnic blanket down to the Ian Potter Lakeside Precinct Lawn where we will share a story, talk about bushfood and learn together.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet, poetry can be a great place to start!

In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to exercises and ideas to help you channel your feelings, thoughts and unique view of the world into words on a page.

Saaro Umar is a writer, support worker, herbalist and artist. Her work has been published widely.

New Languages available in Libby!

Connected Libraries has worked closely with Libby to provide e-books in our most popular community languages.

E-books are now available to borrow in these languages: Punjabi, Sinhalese, Persian, Chinese, Hindi, Tamil, Filipino/Tagalog, Malayalam, Arabic, Spanish and Urdu. 

In addition, home language resource kits for children, families and educators are available from Cranbourne library.

We also have a selection of English Conversation classes running at some of our libraries, which you can book into here.

Tiny Art Competition

Our Tiny Art Show competition is back!

Collect a free mini canvas from any of our libraries, create your own mini masterpiece and submit your artwork for display in the library.

There will be two winners per library, one winner chosen by the public and the other chosen by a Connected Libraries staff member.

Winners will receive a $50 Art Gift Pack. Don't delay, get to the library today and get the creative juices flowing.
