Click here 24 July 2025![]() Cr John-Paul Baladi, Mayor of Strathfield Dear Residents, I would like to begin by apologising to those who came to Homebush Village to meet with me on Sunday. I came down with a bad case of the flu and had to postpone the Street Meeting until this Sunday, July 27th, from 1pm-3pm. I put a communication out on Saturday via social media but, admittedly, this would not have reached everyone. See you on Sunday from 1pm – 3pm! We are deeply saddened to hear the news of flash floods and landslides taking the lives of at least 17 people in Gapyeong over the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, homes and a sense of security. Gapyeong has a special sister city relationship with Strathfield, and we were meant to commemorate the Battle of Kapyong this week in Strathfield, but due to the floods the delegation has cancelled their visit. In other news, Council is organising a flag raising ceremony at 8:30am on Friday 15 August 2025 to mark India's 78th Independence Day.
