Dear BC SuperFans,

We hope your semester is off to a great start. The kickoff to the Boston College Eagles football season is always an exciting time of the year. Boston College hosts Rutgers University on Saturday, September 3rd for the season opener, and we would love to see a packed student section welcome the team onto the field in time for the 12:00 pm kickoff.

We write to seek your cooperation in ensuring a safe weekend for everyone at Boston College and in the surrounding communities.  As always, students are expected to abide by state and city regulations, as well as the BC Student Code of Conduct.  It is our expectation that while engaging in athletic and other events, you will continue to exercise good judgment and remember that you are stewards of Boston College.

Whether you are checking into the Connell Recreation Center between classes, attending a tailgate event or cheering on the Eagles in the stands, remember to follow all outlined rules and regulations to gain entry (including completing your BC Check when entering the Recreation Center). Students who do not comply with policies or are not compliant with University officials will be referred to the Student Conduct process.

University officials will be enforcing policies on campus and throughout game day and the weekend. Boston Police and the Newton Police, with the assistance of BC officials, will be working off campus to ensure that everyone enjoys the weekend in a responsible manner. As a reminder to all students, regardless of the time of day, these police departments will not tolerate underage drinking or loud and disruptive behavior either on the street or at your residence.

As members of the Boston College community, we are called to be good neighbors to those in the surrounding community. Making good choices this weekend is one way to contribute to this effort- be respectful of others, act responsibly, and get help if you or a friend need it. Football game days and nights present an exciting opportunity for the Boston College community to come together with alumni, family and friends of BC. We thank you in advance for your efforts to make this a safe and enjoyable weekend for everyone.

Sincerely,
