We welcome in the Autumn term which presents an array of new short courses. We also would like to extend a warm welcome to any new tutors who are teaching with us for the first time. Every day we see students venture into creativity and we've so enjoyed watching them flourish. Whether it be their first exposure into the arts or they're a practicing professional, UAL Short Courses is there to support students wherever they are in their creative journey. We look forward to hearing from you! ![]() UAL research![]() ![]() Did you know that as a member of UALSC staff you can submit any research projects you are undertaking to UAL Research Online? ![]() Self-paced online courses![]() We are in the process of developing more online self-paced courses with the intention to significantly expand our current portfolio. So, we are currently seeking proposals for new online self-paced courses. If you have any ideas for a course that is suitable to be delivered in this kind of format, (or wish to find out more) please send any ideas with a title and brief explanation of the what the course would entail to Laura Gnata at l.gnata@arts.ac.uk. To find out more about the self-paced courses that we are currently offering, visit our website. ![]() Emails used to book a short course![]() This is a reminder to all tutors that your UAL email address is (by necessity) linked to a UALSC company account in the system. So, to avoid complications with invoices/billing, only personal email addresses and not UAL email addresses should be used when booking Short Courses for yourselves or others. ![]() Tutor survey![]() Don't forget to complete the tutor survey! You only need to fill it in once, but if you've remembered something you want to add feel free to complete it again. This survey is anonymous and we welcome your candour about your experiences as a Short Course tutor. It should not take more than 6 minutes to complete and is a chance for you to comment on recent changes and make suggestions for improvements The survey responses will be collated in November, giving us an opportunity to gather responses from both summer school and term time tutors, and we plan to share the results and actions resulting from them in early 2025. Funmi has designed a sustainable alternative to synthetic hair extensions, by using pineapple leaf waste commonly discarded from farms in Nigeria. This innovation has gained recognition from many awards panels such as the Maison/0 Green Trail 2024.
