New Report Offers Beach Safety Warning Ahead of Lockdown Restrictions Easing
As the state prepares for the anticipated relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions over the coming months, the release of the 2021 NSW Coastal Safety Report by Surf Life Saving NSW has highlighted the need for hyper-vigilance on our beaches, with a spike in coastal visitation expected following large-scale lockdowns.
Cape Hawke SLSC to Host Country Championships
More than two decades after it last hosted the Country Surf Life Saving Championships, the premier event for regional-based surf life saving clubs will be held at Cape Hawke SLSC at Forster in a deal set to span across the 2022 and 2023 events.
Aussie Lifesavers Support Drowning Prevention in Sth Korea
SLSNSW' desire to expand the reach of its top-class training and educational initiatives will grow stronger this month with the beginning of the second half of Phase 1 of a Lifeguard Training, Community Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Education Program in conjunction with the Korean Lifesaving Association (KLA).

Your offer of genuine support could make the world of difference for someone going through a challenging time. You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Dave Winner Fundraiser
Illawarra Branch Life Member Dave Winner (Coalcliff SLSC) is on the road to recovery after a life-threatening accident whilst heading out for a surf at Coalcliff beach early last month. To help support Dave’s rehabilitation, donations can be made via GoFundMe.

SLSA have advised that their external IT service will be performing updates this weekend. There is a small chance that Surfguard, Surfcom, SEMS and the Members Area may be temporarily unavailable from 7pm Sat 11 Sep until 5:30am Sun 12 Sep. If you have any questions or require support, please log a support ticket with the SLSA IT Helpdesk.

COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility
A reminder that volunteer patrolling members (Bronze/SRC) of SLSNSW are eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine. Visit the SLS Members Area to find out more and to download the Letter and Eligibility Declaration Form. Members do not need to be vaccinated to patrol.

Normal entries for the Coolangatta Gold close Sunday 10 October. SLSA is also calling for Official Nominations, closing 17 September.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Deliver a brand new beach safety show to young children between the ages of 3 and 6. We urge anyone interested to apply but early childhood education experience and knowledge will be highly regarded. Training provided.
Multicultural Beach Safety Presenter
Deliver beach safety and rock fishing safety talks to community groups and diverse audiences in English and your own language both virtually and face to face. We urge anyone interested to apply but those with a strong knowledge and interest in their own culture will be highly regarded. Training provided.

With over 330 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:
