From January to August of this year Bayside Council Sector Support and Development team provided 11 training sessions (online and in person) with 428 people from 70 CHSP providers attending. Thank you to everyone who has attended the sessions. We know it is not easy to take time out of your busy working day to attend training, so we appreciate your support.

Understanding Professional BoundariesThis 90-minute webinar provides an overview of professional boundaries and why they are so important in our everyday work. The session covers:

When: Tuesday 24th October 10:00am to 11.30am Facilitator: Trish Miller from Kate Pascale and Associates Understanding Confidentiality This 90-minute webinar builds on your understanding and knowledge of confidentiality and why it is so important. The session will cover: • What are the seven principles of confidentiality and how can we apply them? • How is the Legislation (ACTs) used to create organisational policies to support staff? • Who can discuss a client’s information and when? • What behaviours create risks and breaches in the workplace? • What happens if an issue arises, and confidentiality is breached Who should attend? Towards Specialisation Verification Workshop SeriesThis series 8 online workshops supports you to understand the Specialisation Verification Framework and how it can help your organisation and communities. Each workshop focuses on the people and communities recognised as special needs groups. Specialisation Verification will be necessary when you are ready to promote your services on My Aged Care as the best fit for people who identify with special needs groups. The next webinar The next webinar focuses on older people who are Care Leavers Monday 11th September 9:30-11:00 am via Zoom Register here This workshop is for managers, quality personnel & other aged care staff who: ✅ Influence, lead or progress improvement plans across a service or program ✅ Are interested in exploring the Specialisation Verification Framework or have started the process ✅ Provide CHSP-funded services. Latest information from the Department of Health and Aged CareHave your say on the new Aged Care Act The newly released consultation paper outlines the core components that will make up the new Aged Care Act Your feedback on the foundations of the Act will inform its development and help build an equitable, high quality and sustainable aged care system. Complete the short survey short survey to provide feedback to the Department. This public consultation will close for submissions on Friday 8 September 2023. The current consultation will further inform the drafting of the new Act. The department then expects to release an Exposure Draft of the Bill for the new Act for public consultation later in 2023.
