Thinking in Pictures: Chalmers Road School Support local student art at the Ironbark Gallery! Our latest exhibition features the artistic talents from all students at Chalmers Road School. This school caters for students aged 4-18 with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities. In this context making art is a very sensory process and art lessons are structured in a way that enable all students to access and complete a process. This often
requires modifying materials and finding inventive ways to engage students and these processes in themselves are as interesting as the final product. Have your say on the new design and Review of Environmental Factors of the Homebush Bay Drive and Australia Avenue intersection upgrade! THROWBACK THURSDAY Carols in Strathfield Park, 2017. Courtesy Strathfield Council Christmas Fair, 1901 Christmas Fairs and carols have long celebrated the joy of the season. The style may have changed but the sentiment is the same. In 1901 a Christmas Fair was held at the Homebush School of Arts, over several days, to raise money for that esteemed institute. When Premier Sir John See, was held up in Cabinet, the fair was opened by Lady See instead. She was escorted by her son-in-law, Mr S. Hordern (junior) and the Enfield Lancer Cadets. Students from Homebush Public School ‘executed a floral march’ and numerous stalls were run by local ladies. Merry Christmas!
