Our Library offers a versatile space for different activities and is an excellent spot for studying and unwinding. We all know that many of our residents are concerned with the increased cost of living expenses. So, as part of our Community Action and Better Living support network, we are holding a workshop in our Library on 18 October from 10 am to 12 pm. Learn about budget and financial sustainability, debts, reducing financial stress, and financial wellbeing. Classes are limited so please register via email shanan@cabl.org.au For our younger residents, did you know we have a Lego club? If you think your child is on their way to becoming a Lego Master, book them for the first Monday of every month between 3.30 – 4.30pm for an hour of creative fun at Strathfield Library. We had the most wonderful visit from Consul General of Ireland, Rosie Keane during the past week. We have 2% of our residents who have immigrated from Ireland or have an Irish heritage. The Consulate General has asked us to include in this newsletter a small summary of their services. The Consulate General of Ireland works to promote and protect Irish interests in Australia by working with the Irish community, promoting Ireland’s economic interests and working to strengthen the political and cultural ties between Ireland in Australia. We also provide a range of consular services to our diaspora which can be found here. The Irish Support Agency NSW also provides valuable support and resources for Irish Diaspora living in NSW. The Consulate regularly shares content on consular updates, current community events and information relevant to Irish Diaspora as well as individuals interested in Ireland on: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin. As always, if you require any further information or need to contact me, please do by phone 9748 9999 or email cr.kpensabene@strathfield.nsw.gov.au Celebrate 100 Years of the Strathfield Town Hall Council, in collaboration with the Strathfield-Homebush District History Society, will exhibit and host a historical morning tea.
