This summer we are experimenting with some new programming to help reduce these barriers and have decided to make the programs free! The MRP Swim Team is dedicated to those kids that do not have the money, transportation or time to participate on a formal swim team. We do not expect participants to be a great swimmer, but want people that would like to socialize, learn to work on their stroke and most of all, have fun! We will also mix fun and games as state directives lessen! The Lifeguard Prep program is not only for those of you who would like to pass the lifeguarding test to work at a pool, but is also a great way to exercise during the summer for your teen! Our staff is dedicated to help each participant prepare to pass the lifeguard test! It is open to all levels from those that need to learn basic swimming to others that need just a little help to pass the test. Lifeguarding is a great part-time job in high school and college, and can help open doors to other safety careers including paramedics and fire careers! The MRP Swim Team and Lifeguard Prep programs were funded with help from a King County Parks Grant. If you would like to donate to help swim lessons or programs like this, click here.
