The SLDL office hopes to engage students, faculty, and staff in ways
that promote and develop an inclusive and diverse environment.
We oversee student clubs, promote student engagement, host events and workshops related to diversity and leadership, advise international students, promote mentorship, and manage health insurance enrollment. For more information on events, visit the CGU Events Calendar.

Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month

May

May is Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month. It celebrates Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843. During May, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of Americans of Asian and Pacific Island descent. We encourage our APIDA students have lots of fun celebrating this month and we hope others enjoy learning about different cultural experiences! Check out our reading list below:

Memorial Day 

Monday, May 29th

Dedicated to all members of the United States armed forces that have lost their lives in sacrifice to our country. 

It's also the unofficial start of summer. We've put together lists of films, books, and activities to enjoy over the memorial day weekend. More information is at the official SLDL blog. Enjoy the summer break!

Student Spotlight

Vaishnavi Mansabdar is an accomplished public health professional with a broad range of skills and experiences. She is an international student from Mumbai, India, and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Leadership and Management at Claremont Graduate University. This coming Fall she'll also be taking the helm as GSC Treasurer.
