QLDC Winter Road Report - 4 July 2023Hello everyone, It's a smidge warmer out there today, or so I'm told... There's icy patches up on the Crown Range this morning, these have been gritted and extra care is required. You can also expect strong winds up at the summit (outside that is, don't go blaming your carpool buddy). Grit has been applied to known icy patches along Cardrona Valley Road, Malaghans Road, Littles Road and Hunters Hill. Same goes for areas around Fernhill and Glenorchy Road - please slow down and take extra care around day break - around then the temperatures often drop and further ice can form. Our teams will be out and about checking the roads over the course of the day. Which brings us to the daily reminder that conditions can change quickly so always be alert and drive to the conditions in front of you. If anything significant changes, we'll provide updates on the the QLDC facebook page. And if this wintry weather is getting you a bit down, check out our Winter Wellness series of free events underway over the next couple of months. There's sure to be something there to warm the cockles. That's it from me this morning - if you spot any issues on the road today, give us a call on 03 441 0499 and let us know. Rebecca PS: Happy 4th of July to our American readers!
