In this edition, we highlight events and opportunities that celebrate the many cultures that call Logan home. You'll also find information about programs that support new arrivals as they settle into life in Logan. With over 234 cultural backgrounds represented, Logan is a true reflection of global diversity. Community EventsGetting together Eagleby-Logan Festival Celebrate the diversity of our community at the Eagleby-Logan Festival! Join us for a free community event that brings Logan together to relax, connect, and celebrate. Enjoy cultural music and dance performances, explore food stalls, arts and crafts, attend information sessions and demonstrations, and take advantage of free amusement rides. Presented by the Eagleby Community Association Inc., this festival offers something for all ages. Bring your family and friends for a fantastic day out! This free event celebrates the journeys our children take as they grow, with activities that honour their strength, spirit, and future. Held at the iconic Kingston Butter Factory, this free, family-friendly event features vibrant performances, global cuisine, and interactive activities. With over 40 cultures represented, the festival showcases the creative contributions of Logan’s diverse communities through music, dance, art, and food. Come dressed in your traditional cultural attire and celebrate your heritage in Logan! When: Saturday 30 August, 4pm to 8pm ![]() Taste the world at Logan's Global Food Markets 🌎 Get a first-hand taste of Logan’s cultural diversity at one of the city’s hidden attractions, the Global Food Market. Shop amongst locals and pick up a range of seasonal produce you’d only expect to find overseas including dragonfruit, jack fruit, custard apples, lychees, rambutan, mangosteen and much more. While you’re there, treat yourself to hot breakfast from a melting hot pot of global cuisines including South-East Asian, Indian, African, Pacific Islands, and tastes from the Middle East. The Logan Suicide Prevention Network (LSPN) is inviting local artists to design a logo that reflects the themes of connection, resilience, wellbeing and diversity. The winning design will be used across LSPN’s promotional materials and business communications. Artists are asked to include a short description of their inspiration and design choices. The winning entry will be voted by the community and acknowledged publicly. These classes help build reading, writing and speaking skills for everyday life, work and study, and help people settle into new life in Australia. Saturday classes are now available from 8:30am to 2:45pm - perfect for those with weekday commitments. Come along and enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere that strengthens our community bonds. Eligible organisations can apply for funding up to $20,000 to deliver multicultural events and festivals that promote inclusion, harmony, and intercultural connections across Queensland. Round 1 Applications close: 11:59pm, 17 August 2025 (for events delivered from 1 Jan to 30 Jun in 2026) Round 2 Applications close: 11:59pm, 13 December 2025 (for events delivered from 1 Jul to 31 Dec in 2026) Applications are now open for the Music For All – Community Grants. Music For All welcomes opportunities to directly support or partner with community groups, schools, and organisations delivering projects that bring, grow, or sustain music-making, learning, or participation. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for new or expanding programs that benefit local communities. Applications close: 31 August 2025 Applications open July 30, 2025, for Round 2 of Council's Community Project Grants. With both Disability Action Week and International Men’s Day approaching in November 2025, Council is encouraging our community to apply for funding to support projects and programs that foster long term outcomes exclusively for men and/or people living with disability and their carers.
