Nominations are welcome from senior representatives and leaders within their organizations/fields, with sufficient leverage to influence global health policy agendas. The deadline to receive nominations is Tuesday, 15 November. Further information and requirements for applying are in terms of Reference. Decision-makers must be held accountable for safeguarding the health and well-being of women, children and adolescents. That was one of the resounding messages from the PMNCH Annual Accountability Breakfast, a virtual event on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Over 1,100 registrants from more than 100 countries tuned in to watch a discussion moderated by Maria Antonieta Alcalde Castro, Director of Ipas Latin America and the Caribbean, about the threats of conflict, climate change, and COVID-19 posed to the health of women, children and adolescents in the Latin America and Caribbean region.This month, I am proud to spotlight 11 youth-led organizations doing outstanding work to improve the well-being of adolescents. The organizations, which are members of the PMNCH Adolescents and Youth Constituency, were selected as grant recipients under the COVID-19 Rapid Response and Recovery Small Grants Mechanism, led by the Global Finance Facility and PMNCH. This report from PMNCH, UNICEF, Every Woman Every Child, and PAHO, calls for policymakers to take action to improve the living conditions and prospects for adolescents living in LAC and offers specific recommendations. This advocacy guide from Women Deliver is a tool to support advocates, particularly at the national level, to drive progress toward gender-responsive universal health coverage that is firmly based on human rights, supports gender equality and includes sexual and reproductive health services.The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s annual Goalkeepers report looks at the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals and how the ensuing economic damage reinforces inequalities between and within countries. The report calls for the world to collaborate on developing diagnostics, treatments and vaccines; and ensuring equitable access to these tools for everyone, everywhere.Countdown to 2030 has published a series of blog posts explaining how to clean and analyze routine aggregated health facility data. The first blog explains how to assess the quality of routine health facility data and adjust for outliers and missing data. The second and third blogs explain two methods for calculating denominators for key maternal, newborn and child health indicators.The What Women Want campaign supported by PMNCH asked 1.3 million women and girls about their top priority for their own reproductive and maternal health, listened to their needs and aspirations and mobilized women, communities, and advocates to bring demands to local decision-makers—turning What Women Want into What Women Won.This podcast (part of the TDR Global Health matters series) explores the subject of the health of refugees and migrants.
