Click here 28 March 2024Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield Dear Residents, Last year Council made a commitment to residents to improve our assets like roads and footpaths. To date, Council has spent $2.3 million of these funds on footpath upgrades, $708,000 on road resurfacing and $45,000 on kerb and gutter works. We’re well on track to deliver 117 footpath, 38 road and 33 kerb and gutter upgrades by June 2024. I would like to thank residents for helping us to achieve this momentous milestone, as well as Council staff for working hard to deliver these important upgrades. We have much more work ahead, so please stay tuned for updates. Thank you to everyone who joined Council at ACU on Wednesday night for the Housing Forum, and to The Hon Rose Jackson who was our guest speaker. Ms Jackson is the Minister for Housing and shared her approach and priorities for addressing the housing crisis, particularly affordable housing. After her talk, Ms Jackson answered questions with thoughtful and clear information, and we appreciate her joining us. Thank you also to Jason Yet-Sen Li, Member for Strathfield, for collaborating with Council on the event. Finally, I’d like to wish everyone celebrating Easter a happy and safe weekend. Please take care on the roads when traveling to see your loved ones. I hope the Easter Bunny is generous with you!
