9th December 2022A Message from the Head... ![]() The Christmas season is well and truly here at Gateways! This week I have been treated to an energetic performance from Pre-Reception and Reception in the EYFS Christmas show on Wednesday morning. Christmas jumpers were donned by everyone on Thursday and Reception went to see 'Stick Man' at the West Yorkshire Playhouse today. ![]() Today has also seen the two performances of the KS1 Christmas production of 'Prickly Hay' - I was treated to the morning performance and I hear that this afternoon's performance was just as amazing! I do hope the children enjoyed performing as much as parents and grandparents enjoyed watching. Thanks to all the staff (Mr Woodfine, Miss Hayter, Mrs Hallam and Mr Johnson) for all their hard work rehearsing the children to prepare them for their festive moment in the spotlight! ![]() Next week the festivities continue with Prep Christmas parties and High School Christmas outings, our Christmas lunches and of course our eagerly anticipated Carol Services for Prep and High School. High School musicians visit Stockeld Park![]() Mr Lenihan took a group of over 40 KS3 musicians to Stockeld Park on Monday after school. This was a reward for attending rehearsals so diligently during the first term of this year and great fun was had ice-skating, getting lost in the maze, cross-country skiing and drinking lots of hot chocolate! This term's 'Friday night is music night' performance also took place last Friday in the PAC - click here to read more and see some photos from this event. PFA wreath workshop![]() On 1st December the PFAs first ever wreath making event took place. It was a brilliantly festive start to the season with yummy treats, mulled wine and bubbles, Christmas music and of course a fantastic display of gorgeous wreaths produced on the night. Everyone enjoyed the evening and we're excited to go bigger and better next year due to popular demand already!
