Junior School NoticesTERM 4 WEEK 5Dear valued member of the PLC community, Year 5 AssemblyWhat an amazing assembly the Year 5 students presented on Friday 3 November. The presentation not only showcased the wonderful mathematics learning that has been happening, but the performance also highlighted how dynamic and transdisciplinary the teaching and learning has been. Congratulations to the teachers and students on all your work and focus that went into creating such an outstanding and informative assembly. ![]() Early Years Sports CarnivalWhat a fun and engaging time the Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Pre-Primary students enjoyed on Tuesday. If only the enthusiasm and energy on display could be bottled! It was marvellous to see so many parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends join in to support the event, helping to create a festive and joyous atmosphere. It was such a delight watching the Year 6 leaders as they gently and carefully assisted their younger friends – amazing work girls! Thank you to the Junior School Physical Education teachers, Ms Tash Tench and Mr Ben Matheson, for all they did to prepare the students and plan this event, as well as our fabulous team in Property for all the hard work you did in making this day such a success. Junior School Orientation DayWe are all looking forward to welcoming new 2023 students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 for the JS Orientation Day on Friday 18 November. The PLC students are to wear their regular Friday school uniform and will be joined by their new friends from 9.00 am until the end of the lunch break. The day’s timetable will change so that the new students can experience a sample of the various learning activities on offer in the Junior School. Our current Year 6 students (Year 7 in 2023) will have a Physical Education lesson and a slightly modified timetable, but their day will run like a normal school day. Meredith Beer Rev Nalin's ReflectionsIn recently reported trading results on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), one of Australia’s leading food retailers comparing trading results pre and post-pandemic said that its busiest and most profitable trading day was now Sunday. It brought home to me quite forcibly the dramatic changes that have taken place in our society in recent years, for it is not all that long ago that shops closed at 5.30 pm in the afternoon, noon on Saturdays, with legislation preventing trade on Sundays.
